I ordered this stuff two days ago and it’s already here!
The estimated arrival date was the 13th. At least now I don’t have to worry about someone stealing it off the porch while we’re in DC.
Of course I opened all of it and now can’t get it back in their boxes. So show-off time?
The headunit feels much higher quality than the older version of it I had in the M3. No more plastic creaking when you hit the buttons. And the speakers look so nice I’m gonna feel bad putting them behind early 00s GM plastic.
Now all this stuff is gonna sit around for a week until I get back to install it :(

I had Infinity speakers in my Mustang. Very nice sound. I bought a head unit from Crutchfield earlier this year and their install kits made it pretty damn easy, though I soldered all the leads instead of just using wire nuts because I’m like that.

My dad has Infinity speakers in his truck and they sounds pretty good, if a little hallow sounding. I blame that on him using the stock head unit though.
I will certainly be soldering. My dad doesn’t believe in wire nuts.

I didn’t want crimp connectors or wire nuts up where I couldn’t get to them after the head unit was pushed in to place so it made sense to solder everything though the instructions were for wire nuts. I was an electronics technician at one point in my life so it wasn’t a big deal just to solder wires together.

Please tell me you’re amping your speakers. Even a cheap one (50W x4) will make a world of difference vs. what your receiver can put out (likely no more than a handful of true RMS watts regardless of what it says).
